The Better Business Bureau of New Jersey wil host BBB "Secure Your ID" Day on Saturday October 17, 2009 from 10 A.M. till 1 P.M. in The Hibbert Group Worldwide Distribution Center parking lot at 1100 US Hwy 130 Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
Identity theft is defined as the process of using someone else’s personal information for your own personal gain. Identity theft is on the rise, affecting almost 10 million victims in 2008, a 22% increase from 2007 ( Javelin Strategy & Research Center).
Your BBB and the FTC remind consumers that leaving credit card receipts or papers or CDs with personally identifying information in a dumpster facilitates fraud and exposes consumers to the risk of identity theft. By properly disposing of sensitive information, you ensure that it cannot be read or reconstructed.

What: Free, on the spot document shredding; free distribution of ID theft prevention materials

Where: The Hibbert Group Worldwide Distribution Center parking lot
Bring equivalent of 3 boxes/bags of paper documents. Documents to be shredded should be removed from binders.
